Broad Channel Historical Society

The Broad Channel Historical Society was founded in 1994 with a mission of documenting and preserving the history of Broad Channel, often referred to as the “Venice” of New York. In 2013, Queens Memory partnered with the organization to digitize some of its collection. In this photo, CUNY Service Corps student Cori Blanco uses a mobile scanning kit to digitize scrapbooks that belong to the Historical Society at the Broad Channel Community Library.
